Abstract
In the paper, the possibility of forming a directional radiation pattern using a strip antenna was studied. An asymmetric strip line with a changing distance between the strip and the screen was used as the radiating structure in the antenna, which make it possible to create the traveling wave mode and form a unidirectional linear polarization radiation to achieve increasing the energy efficiency of IoT by reducing the radio transmitter power and overall energy consumption. A mathematical model to calculate the geometry of antenna elements was studied as well as the calculation of the strip antenna for 2.4-2.46 GHz frequency band was done. Using programs, the model of antenna was created and studied to define directional radiation characteristics and impedance matching in the operating frequency range. A successful test of the possibility of implementing frequency scanning was carried out. The series directional patterns for the operating frequency range were calculated during a model experiment. The results of the experiment, presented in the form of a three-dimensional radiation pattern, confirm the formation of a sector radiation pattern with a linear polarization field.
