Digitalization of electrical systems and networks on the example of a digital substation

Abstract

The article analyzes modern digital technologies in the energy industry on the example of digital substations. The basic principles and advantages of digital technologies are presented, and generally accepted principles are formulated. It is shown that event extraction and intelligent information processing are the necessary conditions for digitalization of the energy industry. Digital transformation is the introduction of modern technologies into the business processes of an enterprise, which implies fundamental changes in approaches to management, corporate culture, and external communications. Digitalization, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things can be called the components of digital transformation in the energy sector.
